The Football Association Challenge Cup, as we know and love it today, was designed and manufactured by Fattorini & Sons of Bradford and hallmarked in Sheffield in 1911.
Amazingly Bradford City Football Club won the FA Cup that very first year!
Antonio (Tony) Fattorini, a watchmaker, chess enthusiast. a well known local sportsman, Olympic timekeeper and founder member of Bradford City Football Club, was also a Board Member of the Club at that time.
For further infomation, visit the Bradford Industrial Museum who hosted the successful exhibition:
"Bradford City 1911 - when the FA cup came home" which ended on 12 June 2011.
